Boiler Installation

New boiler installation - keeping you warm and cosy through the cold winter months

Don't get caught short with a broken boiler. Get a new one when you want to rather than when you have to.

Not everything can last forever. Gas boilers, like everything else, get old and eventually are beyond economical repair. Or, as new technologies come along, they’re no longer as efficient and cost-effective as modern versions. Having a new boiler installed can potentially save you a lot of money compared to keeping an old boiler running for longer. According to Which, on average a boiler costs Β£200 to repair every time it breaks. That’s an unexpected expense we’re sure most of us could do without. Probably more important than the money savings is the guarantee of hot water and a warm home through those long, cold winter months.

If the time has come for you to have a new gas boiler installed, we’ll guide through the many options you have. Generally you have three types of boiler that you can choose from, Combi boilers, system boilers and regular boilers. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages.

With over 20 years of experience in plumbing and central heating of all types and manufacturers, we can provide expert advice on what kind of gas boiler installation is best suited to your home.

Combi Boiler

  • Suited to small homes with lower hot water demands
  • Small and compact – fit in a kitchen cupboard or under stairs
  • Easy to install
  • Cheap to install
  • Efficient and cheap to run
  • Priority is given to hot water so radiators may lose heat when running a bath/shower
  • A shower will lose power and heat if another hot tap is on at the same time.

System Boiler

  • Suitable for larger households
  • Only uses one tank to store hot water, so space is saved compared to a regular boiler
  • Space needs to be available for the cylinder
  • Gives instant access to hot water
  • Hot water is available to several users at the same time without loss of heat or pressure
  • If a lot of hot water is used in a short period, there is a risk of it running out
  • Easy to install but isn’t compatible with old heating systems
  • Easy to operate
  • Compatible with solar-panel heating systems.

Regular Boiler

  • Suitable for larger households
  • A second tank is needed for cold water
  • Never runs out of hot water
  • Risk of cisterns in the loft or garage freezing in cold weather
  • Suited to homes with traditional heating systems installed
  • Take longer to fit than system or combi-boilers
  • Cost of repair is typically higher than for system or combi-boilers.

About Our Professional Heating, Plumbing and Gas Services.

"We had Kris take a look at our Baxi boiler which was leaking and losing pressure. He sorted the issue out very quickly and serviced the boiler as well so it is now working spot on. Kris also advised and fitted a new 4 hob gas cooker top in our kitchen. The new hob looks mint and the cost of this was far less than I anticipated, 2 jobs expertly done very quickly by Kris."
